Project

Wind power for Satara

This climate protection project supplies the city of Satara and its surrounding area in western India with clean energy from wind power. A total of 44 modern wind turbines with a total capacity of 15.4 MW generate emission-free electricity, replacing energy from polluting thermal power plants that use fossil fuels. The electricity is fed into the local grid and actively contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to environmental protection, the project supports the sustainable social and economic development of the region: it promotes local jobs, with a particular focus on the employment of women. Both the climate and society benefit from this sustainable commitment in the long term.
